Singer/Songwriter
Music has always been woven into my life as a performer, though it entered my career in a somewhat unexpected way. My early focus was theater, but everything shifted when I met my husband, award-winning pianist, songwriter, and producer Rich Wyman, more than three decades ago.
At the time, Rich was performing with his band and knew that I loved to sing. He began inviting me up on stage to perform with him, and what started as a few songs quickly grew into something much bigger. Performing together became a natural extension of our creative partnership and eventually evolved into the piano-driven musical duo we are known for today.
My voice developed in the training ground of New York City nightclubs and cabarets, where I explored and expanded my three-octave range. Over time my vocal style grew into a versatile and electrifying blend of soulful power and emotional depth, often drawing comparisons to artists such as Annie Lennox and Paula Cole. My ability to move fluidly through the different parts of my range allows me to shift easily from the richer, more powerful tones of my voice into the warmer, more intimate colors reminiscent of artists like k.d. lang and Joni Mitchell.
There is also a touch of vintage jazz woven into my phrasing — a nod to the ’40s-style sensibility that allows for improvisation and spontaneity on stage, something I’ve always loved bringing into live performance.
Together, Rich and I have built a high-energy live act centered around powerful piano, dynamic vocals, and storytelling. Our performances have received standing ovations while touring with the Grammy Award-winning Gipsy Kings across the United States and Canada, and at the prestigious ASCAP Music Café at the Sundance Music Festival.
